Just before the international break, Chelsea were hailed for their performance against Liverpool as the Blues were able to hold on for an hour against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

It was a resilient Chelsea display away at Anfield and the Blues left with a point.

However, Manchester United had a similar occurrence as Aaron Wan-Bissaka was sent off in the 35th minute of the Champions League tie against Young Boys.

Rio Ferdinand doesn’t think Manchester United lost the game against Young Boys because of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s tactics.

While in the BT Sport studio, Ferdinand rejected comparisons with Chelsea as he said: “Chelsea look very confident, they understand how to navigate their way through difficult situations in matches. They went down to 10 men at Anfield and looked very comfortable.

“Man United, on the other hand, looked like a team that were hoping to get a result tonight when they went down to 10 men. And that comes down to experience, that comes down to Chelsea winning something that brings confidence throughout that squad.

“Confidence is streaming through that squad. It’s a very different place and time where they are in their development and Man United are trying to get to that point.”
