Young Boys chief executive Wanja Greuel insists his team deserved their 2-1 Champions League victory over Manchester United on Tuesday evening.
“Manchester played with their best team, they played with Ronaldo,” Greuel told Daily Mail.
“It was a big game for them as well. One thing is we won the game and the other thing is we really deserved to win the game.
“Of course, the red card played very much into out hands but it was a great game by our team. It is simply amazing. We are such a small club compared to the giants from Manchester and shows what team spirit and culture can actually achieve.”
He added: “[Before the game] I told the sponsors how Manchester United’s turnover is related to ours, how the wages is related to ours, how the fans worldwide are related to ours, but I ended my speech saying in the end it is 11 against 11 and it starts 0-0 and so we should not be afraid.”
