Manchester United set unwanted record after defeat to Young Boys

Manchester United started the Champions League campaign with a surprise defeat, as Young Boys came from behind to beat United 2-1 away in Switzerland.

Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring with a 13th minute goal, and it looked like United will run away with this victory. However, a red card to Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the 35th minute changed the context of the game.

Young Boys dominated the second half of the game and Moumi Ngameleu tapped home inside the box with 20 minutes left.

Jesse Lingard’s poor backpass allowed Jordan Siebatcheu score the winner in the last kick of the game.

An unwanted record was set in the process as Manchester United recorded just two shots all game, which is the worst the club has recorded in 138 games since 2003-04 when Opta started keeping record.
