Manchester United currently have two top goalkeepers in David De Gea and Dean Henderson, as the duo sweat over a starting role at the club.
At some point, Henderson had been Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s favourite, but De Gea later claimed back his spot.
With Henderson out injured, De Gea has impressed as the club’s number one this season and is in top form already.
The 31-year-old Spaniard has now played down talks of a rivalry between him and Henderson, as he listed some top names he had competed with in the past.
“I’ve been with many great ‘keepers here, all of my career in Manchester it’s been Sergio, Valdes, Anders, there’s always been great goalkeepers here in the club,” he said.
“It’s not just the fight between ‘keepers, it’s fighting between the players, we always try to bring the best players so it’s always going to be fighting for your position.
“That’s Manchester United, we try to be ambitious and bring the best players and then try to fight for your position. That’s football, that’s Manchester United.”
