Breaking: Cristiano Ronaldo equals Champions League record

Manchester United attacker Cristiano Ronaldo has equalled the all-time Champions League appearance record after he was named in the starting XI for the game against Young Boys this evening.

Ronaldo’s appearance against Young Boys means the Manchester United forward has now made 177 appearances in the Champions League, level with legendary Real Madrid goalkeeper and former teammate, Iker Casillas.

Ronaldo scored a brace on his Manchester United debut against Newcastle United on Saturday as Manchester United beat them 4-1 at Old Trafford and he would be hoping to score another goal today after reaching this impressive Champions League milestone.

Congrats Cristiano.
