Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice on his Manchester United debut in the 4-1 win over Newcastle United on an electric afternoon at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo tapped home in the dying moments of the first-half after Freddie Woodman spilled Mason Greenwood’s shot.
Javier Manquillo scored the equaliser for Newcastle United jsut after half-time following a good move involving Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin.
But the lead lasted just a matter of minutes as Ronaldo struck again, crashing home a shot through Woodman’s legs at the Stretford End following Luke Shaw’s run and pass.
Bruno Fernandes stepped up to score his fourth of the season, lashing home a stunning strike from 25 yards out to make 3-1.
Jesse Lingard came off the bench to make it 4-1 for Manchester United in injury time.
