According to reports, Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard has rejected the club’s offer of a new contract.
Lingard’s contract with the club runs out at the end of the season, and he’s not keen on extending his stay at Old Trafford.
Lingard’s stock had fallen after a terrible two year spell under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but a move away on loan at West Ham saw his stock rise again as he impressed for the Hammers, scoring nine times in 16 appearances.
West Ham tried to sign Lingard on a permanent deal but United were reluctant to let him leave, as Solskjaer wanted him as an option this season.
According to ESPN, Manchester United have made an offer to Lingard over a new deal, but the 28-year-old turned down the proposal.
The reports claim Lingard wants assurances from Solskjaer over his playing time.
With the addition of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo to the squad, Lingard may not be afforded the playing time he truly deserves.
