Manchester United legend Roy Keane has hailed the signing of Cristiano Ronaldo, as his former teammate sealed a sensational return to the club he left 12 years ago.
Ronaldo’s signing strikes different opinions as he’s now in the final phase of his career at age 36.
However, Manchester United legend Roy Keane has said he is pleased with the deal and is sick and tired of the talks.
Keane pointed to Ronaldo’s display for his national team against Ireland, as he scored a late brace to seal a massive win for Portugal.
Speaking as a pundit for ITV, he said: “Brilliant, it is amazing,” the pundit told ITV following England’s 4-0 win over Hungary in the World Cup qualifiers when asked for his opinion on the signing.
“Even last night, Ireland put on a great display, a good show, Ronaldo looked off it, missed a penalty but we just seen what he’s about getting in the box, end product, two brilliant headers.
“First one very, very brave then the second one great movement the accuracy of the header, how many times can I say it? The man’s a genius, I’m sick of saying it.
“I was surprised when it all happened, there was talk he was going to City and to be back at Man United and I know some will doubt it but we seen last night, he’s a different player to when he left. His football intelligence was fantastic last night.
“Great for the league, United needed a lift, can’t wait to see him again back at United.”
