Manchester United did well to sign up Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.
However, many believe that the team is still weak in the central midfield position.
Former England international Trevor Sinclair has admitted his surprise that Manchester United didn’t go on to sign Kalvin Phillips from Leeds United.
Phillips impressed in the Euros with England after a nice campaign with Leeds, and Sinclair has backed him to make a move to a top club soon.
“I think Kalvin Phillips is ready [to join a top-four club],” the former England international told talkSPORT.
“If Leeds do not really pick up this season and start threatening the top four, I think Kalvin Phillips will go.
“I am actually quite surprised that Manchester United didn’t have a look at him.”
