Manchester United paid £73m to sign up Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old comes from the German with a massive reputation, and former Manchester United striker Michael Owen has revealed that he used to watch Sancho when he was still a youth player for Manchester City.
Owen has backed Sancho to be a top player for United, and revealed how he got blown away by the young winger.
“Sancho, I don’t think there are any question marks. I used to watch him as a kid at Manchester City’s academy and to say he blew you away back then was an understatement,” he told Premier League Productions, via the Manchester Evening News.
“You just knew he was going to be a superstar player. By all accounts, a couple of people out there in Germany – who watch a lot of football – tell me that he was absolutely outstanding.
“They couldn’t believe that he didn’t get a regular berth in the England national team at the Euros.”
