Southampton defender Romain Perraud has backed Manchester United to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
While Manchester United hammered Leeds United 5-1 last weekend, Southampton endured a difficult time during their first game of the season, losing 3-1 to Everton away from home.
Perraud, who is preparing to face Manchester United for the first time after joining Southampton from Brest this summer, admits the Red Devils are challenging for the title this season.
“Big, big challenge for us and a big challenge for me, if I play,” Perraud told the Daily Echo.
“Manchester United has many, many great players. I think this year they will fight for the title.
“So I think it is an exciting challenge for me, for us because it’s a great team and we need to make a great match for our fans, because it’s the first time in St Mary’s Stadium for everybody.”
