Luke Shaw has been hailed as the best left-back in the world over the past year.
The 26-year-old had his best ever season last term, both for club and for country.
The England international has also started the new campaign with amazing form as he was superb in the 5-1 win over Leeds United.
Shaw has won the hearts of many, including the legendary left-back Roberto Carlos.
During the Euros, Carlos revealed how pleased he was with the performance of Luke Shaw.
When asked about what he thought of Shaw’s nickname “Shawberto Carlos”, given to him by his England teammates at Euro 2020, Carlos responded : “He was the best player in the tournament. He has to keep it up; he has to continue playing like that. That’s important.”
Carlos had again taken to social media to praise Shaw for his performance against Leeds.
After the game against Leeds, Shaw took to Instagram and dropped a post of his teammates celebrating one of their five goals, accompanied with the caption: “What a atmosphere at OT!! The start we wanted” before tagging Manchester United’s official account.
Roberto Carlos was in on the comments section this time, as he thanked the left-back for his shirt, while adding that there was no signature to it.
Carlos had left Shaw a message that read: “Congratulations on the victory and thank you very much for the shirt, only the signature was missing but that’s ok, next time” followed by a number of laughing and clapping emojis.
