Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani has been out of the country since the summer holidays.

The Uruguayan has been on holiday since playing for his country Uruguay in the Copa America. Despite a quarter-final exit, the Uruguayan was given an extended break ahead of the new season.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now confirmed that Solskjaer is back in the country and is still on quarantine.

“Edi is in the country,” Solskjaer said.

“[But] he’s just finishing off his isolation period. He’s had a little bit of extra time for personal reasons.”

Solskjaer also revealed that Eric Bailly and Amad Diallo who represented Ivory Coast in the Olympics are back to the club but are yet to resume training.

“Eric and Amad are also in the country waiting to get the all-clear to join the team again. They’ve had a very exciting summer of course, been in the Olympics [and] played games before that as well, so they should be fit before they come.”
