Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was proud of his team’s performance in the 4-0 victory over Everton.
United put up a fine performance in our final pre-season game of the summer, with the new season kicking off next weekend.
Solskjaer was particularly impressed with the performance of skipper Harry Maguire as he combined with Luke Shaw to head home a corner kick past England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
It was a fine Euro 2020 connection for Manchester United’s second goal against the Toffees, and Solskjaer has backed Maguire to keep heading home goals from setpieces, telling him that he should be our most dangerous player in the opposition box during corners.
“I’ve not had a lot of time with Harry since he come back but the summer practising set plays with Luke and England has helped us,” Solskjaer said.
“Today was a good delivery [and] a good header. Harry knows we demand more from him in the goal tally.
“He’s one of the best with getting the first contact but too many times it’s flown over the bar but well done [for today], he’s in good nick after the Euros and looked very good today.”
