Manchester United have been linked with a move for Atletico Madrid right-back Kieran Trippier, and top reporter Dean Jones believes that it would be a done deal before the end of the summer transfer window.
Jones told The Football Terrace: “I honestly think this deal will be done.
“Trippier is confident that Atletico Madrid are working on finding a replacement for him and as soon as they are far enough down the road that that’s been clinched he should be able to negotiate with United. So it’s just about patience really.”
Meanwhile, QPR striker Charlie Austin berated United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka after their 4-2 win over Manchester United in a pre-season fixture.
Charlie Austin told Manchester United that they need to sign a right-back and insisted that they sign Kieran Trippier who has been linked with a move to the club.
Charlie Austin said on talkSPORT: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka can’t defend!
“And his final ball is not what a centre-forward wants, it’s not what [Edinson] Cavani wants, it’s not what [Marcus] Rashford wants. They need to sign Kieran Trippier.”
