Manchester United and Real Madrid have both confirmed an agreement has been reached for the transfer of the France international Raphael Varane.

Varane is yet to come to the UK and complete his transfer, despite the two clubs having reached an agreement for more than a week now.

According to reports, Varane is unlikely to be ready in time to make his Manchester United debut on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.

The Daily Telegraph claim that Varane is still waiting to get his visa before he can move to England. He was expected to travel on Monday but it has now been pushed further as he waits for permission to travel, after which he will need to quarantine and complete a medical.

Manchester United start the season with a home game against Leeds United on August 14, and Varane may not be available for the clash.
