QPR striker Charlie Austin has lambasted the deficiency of Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Wan-Bissaka was poor and looked rusty in Manchester United’s pre-season game, and Charlie Austin has revealed how easy it was to play against him.
Manchester were beaten 4-2 by QPR and two of their goals came down Wan-Bissaka’s wing, as Austin also benefitted from a lack of marking to head home an instant equaliser following Jesse Lingard’s early opener.
Austin has told Manchester United that they need to sign a right-back and insisted that they sign Kieran Trippier who has been linked with a move to the club.
Charlie Austin said on talkSPORT: “Aaron Wan-Bissaka can’t defend!
“And his final ball is not what a centre-forward wants, it’s not what [Edinson] Cavani wants, it’s not what [Marcus] Rashford wants. They need to sign Kieran Trippier.”
Asked by former Arsenal defender Ray Parlour if it was just one bad game for Wan-Bissaka against QPR, Austin replied: “You can always have a bad game, it was just a pre-season friendly.
“With all due respect, if Aaron Wan-Bissaka is your right-back, are Man United going to win Premier Leagues and silverware? I’m not too sure.
“They need to strengthen there, definitely.”
