Real Madrid star Raphael Varane is close to completing a move to Manchester United this summer and according to reports, another La Liga star is open to joining Manchester United.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez is open to joining Manchester United this summer.
“I’m told about Saul, it’s a possibility if the deal will collapse with Barcelona,” Romano told The United Stand when quizzed on the likelihood of Saul joining Manchester United this summer.
“At the moment Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are in a quiet moment in the negotiations (for a Saul/Griezmann swap deal) but it’s not 100% collapsed yet from what I know.
“Saul is open to moving to the Premier League but at the moment there is nothing advanced with Manchester United, Chelsea, or Liverpool.
“He knows these three clubs are interested in the situation but in the transfer market, it’s not like FIFA. You can call the agent or the club to ask about the player and this is what Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool are doing. He (Saul) is on the market now.
“They are not talking, or are in advanced talks with Atletico Madrid yet. I think it will take some weeks to understand what will happen with Barcelona and if the deal will collapse, English clubs could have an opportunity for him.”
