Borussia Dortmund have now formed a reputation for being hard bargainers in the transfer market.
Manchester United have long been keen on signing Jadon Sancho for two years in a row, but the German giants weren’t keen on seeing their young winger leave the club.
United made several advances for Sancho last summer but none was successful.
Interestingly, Dortmund celebrated keeping hold of Jadon Sancho last summer by teasing Man Utd with a post of the Englishman and the caption ‘You love to see it’.
Manchester United moved to aim a cheeky dig at Borussia Dortmund after finally ending their two-year long pursuit of Sancho. United paid £73m for his signing, way less than the £100m Dortmund were demanding last summer.
One year after Dortmund’s cheeky dig, Manchester United have now given their own response.
‘You love to see it’ was the message as Manchester United announced Sancho on Friday.
The United board will be pleased with the patience that saw them save over £20m to sign their man.
