According to Daily Mail, Manchester United are close to finalising a sensational double swoop to strengthen the defence with the signings of Raphael Varane and Kieran Trippier.
The report claims both signings would cost Manchester United around £68, which would take our summer spending to over £140million following the transfer of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
Varane’s transfer from Real Madrid is expected to cost Manchester United around £50million while Trippier’s transfer from Atletico Madrid will cost around £18million.
Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Varane, leaving United ‘hopeful’ that a deal can be completed for the 28 year old by the end of next week.
Trippier is also keen to move to Old Trafford following two successful years at the Wanda Metropolitano where this summer he won LaLiga title with Atletico.
