Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was expected to star for the Portuguese team in the Euros, but the 26-year-old has yet to light up Euro 2020 so far.

Bruno Fernandes was in the starting lineup for Portugal’s first two group games against Hungary and Germany, but was surprisingly named on the bench for their massive clash against France.

Bruno Fernandes came on for the final 18 minutes of the game in place of Bernando Silva.

According to reports, Fernandes was seen as ‘off the pace’, and he looked ‘unfit’, which led to his omission from the side.

Meanwhile, former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had accused Bruno Fernandes of going missing in the first two games for Portugal.

“Portugal at its highest level can beat anyone,” Mourinho told talkSPORT.

“But we need to play with eleven players, in these two matches Bruno Fernandes was on the pitch but not playing.

“I hope he turns up against France, because he’s a player with incredible potential.

“He can pass, he can score. He can get penalties, he can score penalties, he can score free-kicks.

“He has a lot to give, but the reality is in these two matches he was not there.”
