Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney played with many top players during his career, and is currently working as the manager of Championship side Derby County.
Rooney has his eyes fixed on the ongoing European Championship, and is hopeful England will have a good tournament.
One player Rooney is keen to see excel during Euro 2020 is Aston Villa star Jack Grealish. Grealish has been impressed so much for the Villans, and Rooney has admitted that he’d like to manage the Villa captain.
Rooney, who is the record goalscorer for both England and Manchester United, told The Times: ‘I’d love to manage Grealish and if I did, I’d encourage him to express himself, to not be afraid of mistakes or giving the ball away, especially in the final third.
“I’d also loved to have played with Jack. I was a player who studied defenders and when Jack takes the ball and draws them out of position, I would have been looking to exploit the spaces they left.”
