Real Madrid happy to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United and have set an asking price for defender

Real Madrid are reportedly happy to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United after the French defender showed no desire in signing a new contract.

According to Spanish show El Partidazo de COPE via Daily Mail, Real Madrid ‘would sell Raphael Varane for around £52million’ this summer amid interest from Manchester United.

The 28-year-old centre-back has one year remaining on his Bernabeu contract and Real Madrid are keen on selling the defender this summer to avoid losing him for free next summer.

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Varane as the ideal centre-back partner for Harry Maguire in Manchester United’s defence.

Varane is a proven winner after winning the Champions League four times and La Liga three times in his ten seasons at Real Madrid.

Varane is currently with the France team ahead of Euro 2020, a tournament the reigning world champions enter as favourites.
