According to The Athletic via Metro UK, Manchester United are confident of signing Kieran Trippier below Atletico Madrid’s asking price of £20million.
The Red Devils reportedly believe the Atletico Madrid right-back can be signed for a fee of around £12million this summer.
Trippier joined Atletico from Tottenham in 2019 for a fee of around £20m and the La Liga giants are looking to recoup their outlay this summer.
However, with the Spanish side in financial difficulties, Manchester United believe Trippier can be signed below Atletico Madrid’s £20million asking price.
Manchester United also believe Trippier’s desire to join Manchester United this summer will also push down Atletico Madrid’s asking price.
The Red Devils are relaxed over a move for Trippier, as Diogo Dalot has enjoyed a fine season with AC Milan and could return from the San Siro to compete with Wan-Bissaka if Trippier doesn’t arrive.
