Cristiano Ronaldo is being linked with a return to Manchester United, where he won his first Ballon d’Or award.
Ronaldo is currently with Italian Serie A side Juventus, and reports claim that he may leave the Serie A giants at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo’s mother Dolores Aveiro revealed this week that she will try to convince her son to return to his boyhood club Sporting CP who recently won the Portuguese league for the first time since 2002.
“I’ll talk to him [Cristiano] to bring him back” Aveiro said.
“Next year he will play in Alvalade [Sporting’s stadium].”
However, Ronaldo’s long-time representative Jorge Mendes has revealed that the former Sporting star won’t be returning to Sporting anytime soon, even though he is pleased with the club’s recent victory.
“Cristiano is very proud of Sporting winning the championship, as he has demonstrated publicly, but at the moment, his career plans do not go through Portugal,” Mendes told Portuguese newspaper Record.
