According to The Sun via Daily Mail, Manchester United could involve Jesse Lingard in a deal to bring Jadon Sancho to the club this summer.
Lingard is reportedly being eyed by Borussia Dortmund after a stunning loan spell at West Ham.
The England international has scored nine goals in 13 Premier League appearances for West Ham since joining on loan in January, and has also provided four assists.
Manchester United are now hoping to use Borussia Dortmund’s interest in Lingard as an advantage to sign Sancho this summer.
Borussia Dortmund want between £80-100m for Sancho but that price could be brought down with the inclusion of Lingard. Manchester United value Lingard at £20m.
However, Lingard’s salary demands of £100,000 per week could prove a stumbling block to any potential deal that would see him join Borussia Dortmund. It is also a problem that West Ham also face.
West Ham are also keen on signing Lingard permanently but are unable to commit to the player’s demands for a four-year contract worth in excess of £100,000 a week.
