Manchester United put one leg in the final of the Europa League after a 6-2 win over Roma at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
United have a huge advantage heading to next week’s second leg tie in Rome. Roma would have to beat Manchester United 4-0 in the return leg in Rome, if they want to get to the next round.
It’s a huge take for Roma ahead of the return leg, but United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, isn’t taking the fixture yet for granted. According to Solskjaer, the tie is not yet over.
Asked if United can now start looking ahead to a final date against either Arsenal or Villarreal, Solskjaer added: “No I don’t feel the job is done but it was a good job done. We did well but we know they have quality.
“They scored two goals from the two chances we gave them. They didn’t have loads of chances against Ajax [in the quarter-finals]. The second half was very good.”
