Manchester United third choice goalkeeper Lee Grant has been told that his contract with the club will not be extended at the end of the season.

The 38-year-old was signed in a surprise move by the club back in 2018, as he was signed to be a back-up while young goalkeepers Joel Pereira and Dean Henderson were sent out on loan to develop.

Pereira has so far been unable to reach desired heights, while Henderson has come back in massive form for the club.

For Grant, he has only made two appearances for Manchester United, and the last was a defeat away at Astana in November 2019.

United won’t be looking to keep the 38-year-old on the club’s payroll next season, and Grant will be pleased with the opportunity to have represented the club. It’s yet to be seen if he’d call it quits and retire at the end of the season or go on to another club.
