Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is set to sign a new contract with Manchester United, according to Manchester Evening News.
The 27 year old defender was approaching the final year in his previous deal, but is now set to pen a contract extension which could keep him at Old Trafford for another four years.
Bailly was previously concerned about extending his Manchester United contract but is now ready to commit his future to United after being given reassurances over his playing time beyond the current season.
Earlier this month Solskjaer confirmed Bailly was still in his immediate plans and would soon return to the pitch having overcome a positive Covid-19 diagnosis.
“Eric has been isolating back home in Ivory Coast,” Solskjaer said. “He is back here now. Hope he’ll be available for the weekend. Hopefully he will train tomorrow and see how he feels. Had a test today, need confirmation he’s still negative.
“Eric has played well when he’s played. I know there has been speculation. We are talking to him about his contract. I don’t see any issues with him.”
