Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed Paul Pogba was benched for today’s goalless draw against Leeds United because of Manchester United’s upcoming fixture pile-up.

Daniel James took the place of Pogba in the starting XI against Leeds United with Solskjaer claiming the winger is better suited to playing against Leeds United while Pogba is in need of rest.

“You have to think about this game but you also have to think about the run of games we’re facing,” said Solskjaer.

“Dan did really well against Leeds at home – his high energy, his 1v1, his defending. Everything about him suits this game.”
