Manchester United confirmed on Tuesday that the club has withdrawn from the controversial European Super League.
The club had confirmed via an official statement: “Manchester United will not be participating in the European Super League.
“We have listened carefully to the reaction from our fans, the UK government and other key stakeholders.
“We remain committed to working with others across the football community to come up with sustainable solutions to the long-term challenges facing the game.”
Manchester United players were unhappy with the club’s decision to join the Super League, and Harry Maguire as well as Amad Diallo celebrated on social media after the club announced that it has exited the controversial league.
Maguire shared an image of Manchester United’s open top bus title celebrations from the 2012-13 season with the caption: ‘Let’s all stay UNITED’.
Amad Diallo, who only arrived at the club in January, also shared a similar post with a similar message; ‘We are all equal’.
