Former Roma defender Andoni Carboni have warned Manchester United that there are no favourites in the semi-final stage of the Europa League.
Manchester United will take on the Italian club in the Europa League semi-final after beating Spanish side Granada in the quarter-finals.
Carboni told TMW: “To get to the final, the strong teams must be eliminated. Now there will be a match against United which is a candidate for the final.
“When it reaches this level, however, the possibilities are the same for everyone. Going back to Thursday’s match (against Ajax), maybe there was a bit of tension and suffering but in the return it was predictable after winning the first leg.
“For the future I would wait: Fonseca has shown that he has a good football culture and has shown himself to be an excellent coach. But to achieve certain objectives you also need to have the players.”
