Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw has been one of the best players in the league this season, and the 25-year-old could easily be hailed as the best left-back in the Premier League this term.
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, made a bold claim last month, by saying that Shaw was one of the best finishers at the club.
Solskjaer said: “I’ve said that to Luke, yeah.
“He is behind Mason Greenwood, Luke has a very good finishing technique when he gets in that position so I encourage him to get up there.”
Shaw scored a fine goal in United’s 2-0 victory over Manchester City in March, to mark his third goal since moving to Old Trafford back in 2014.
Despite his lack of goals, Solskjaer rates Shaw’s finishing at a high level, and the left-back insists that he’d take it.
Addressing his manager’s comments in a Q&A with supporters, Shaw said: “I’m happy to just go with what the manager says… if he says it then it’s true!
“I think I would put myself up there but I need to back it up on the pitch and start scoring more goals and maybe more people might start believing me!
“But if Ole said it then I’ll take it. Like I said, I need to be backing it up on the pitch more.”
