Ole Gunnar Solskjaer identifies replacement for David de Gea

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly identified a replacement for David de Gea with the Spaniard expected to leave the club at the end of the season.

Dean Henderson has been preferred as the club’s no.1 in recent weeks and De Gea is reportedly unhappy about his current role at the club.

According to The Sun, Solskjaer wants to bring keeper Sam Johnstone back from West Brom in a shock swoop.

Johnstone’s reputation has grown after a stunning campaign with the Baggies, earning him a first senior England call-up.

Johnstone, 28, who came through the Old Trafford ranks before a £5million move to Albion in 2018, could be tempted to move as his deal is about to enter its final year.

West Brom might cash in as Johnstone is also one of their top earners.
