According to The Mirror, Manchester United are ready to sell in-form midfielder Jesse Lingard for £30million this summer.
The midfielder struggled for opportunities at Old Trafford. He left United on loan for West Ham in January and has rediscovered his best form.
The Hammers are reportedly ‘ready to do whatever it takes’ to sign Lingard permanently this summer.
So far Lingard has scored six times in eight league outings for his temporary club, with the most recent coming in the form of an excellent solo goal in Monday night’s victory over Wolves.
He has been involved in nine goals in total in the Premier League since making his Hammers debut in February – a record only equalled by Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
Meanwhile, Manchester United legend Gary Neville believes Lingard will have to accept a squad role if he wants a future with United.
He said: “If Jesse wants to play, and you can see he does want to play, then he needs to leave, because he’s not going to play every single week for a Manchester United team that’s competing for second or first place in the league.
“But if he’s willing to go back there and compete and be the player that Dan James has been for the last few weeks, in and out, then there’s no doubt he can play for Manchester United.”
