Jesse Lingard has been enjoying a great season on loan with West Ham, and one can only wonder why he was loaned out by Manchester United.
The 28-year-old rarely had playing opportunities under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, before eventually sealing a loan move to West Ham.
Lingard has now earned a recall to the Three Lions team, and has also been hailed by fans and pundits alike.
His Hammers teammate was also full of praise for the Manchester United star before their game against Wolves. In the words of Aaron Cresswell, ‘class is permanent’.
The West Ham left-back told Sky Sports: “Jesse has been fantastic.
“You just need to look in the short space of time he’s been here, his stats speak for that – his goals and assists in such a short time.
“I knew Jesse was a very good player, I played with him at England a few years back. He just hasn’t had the luck the last few years at Man United and didn’t really get any game time. As they say: class is permanent.
“He’s certainly come back and looks in fantastic shape and he’s back in the England squad. He’s been a fantastic addition to our squad.”
Lingard would go on to score the opener for West Ham as they defeated Wolves 3-2.
