Manchester United might just have identified the perfect alternative to Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
According to a report from Salzburger Nachrichten via Daily Express, the Red Devils are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka.
The 22-year-old has scored 27 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions for Salzburg so far this season, including 20 strikes in just 18 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga.
The report claims the forward is valued at just €20m (£17m) and is expected to bring in a record transfer fee for Salzburg.
Salzburg’s current record sale is Erling Haaland, who joined Borussia Dortmund in a €20m deal, and Daka’s value is expected to rise if he continues his prolific form.
Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in signing the Zambian striker.
