Manchester United midfielder Fred was racially abused by some senseless fans following Manchester United’s FA Cup defeat to Leicester City on Sunday.

Fred is the fourth United player to be racially abused in recent weeks, with Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Axel Tuanzebe targeted previously.

Fred issued a statement on Monday, calling for the end of racism: “Social media comments filled with hate and, above all, racism: we cannot feed that culture. We cannot aceppt it. We have to fight it always. We are bigger and better than that. Enough!”

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes has shown his support for Fred following the shameful incident.

Commenting on Fred’s post, Fernandes said: “We’re all humans! Spread love, not hate.”

While we weren’t happy with Fred’s performance against Leicester City, racially abusing the midfielder isn’t what any true Manchester United fan should do.
