According to The Sun, Manchester United are eyeing a £50million-plus summer move for Wolves star Pedro Neto.
The 21-year-old has been one of the few shining lights in a disappointing season for the West Midlands outfit and he is seen as an alternative to Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
Manchester United could have signed Neto, 21, for next to nothing back in 2016 when the he came to Carrington on trial from Portuguese side Braga – but he did not do enough to convince them to buy him then.
Rivals Manchester City are also interested in Neto but would prefer to sign Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish instead.
Despite looking at other alternatives, the report claims Manchester United still remain interested in signing Sancho but only if he is available for the right price.
Manchester United failed to sign Sancho last summer following Borussia Dortmund’s refusal to concede any ground on their £100m valuation of Sancho.
Borussia Dortmund are four points off Champions League places in the Bundesliga and failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League will put them under pressure to cash in on Sancho.
