Solskjaer confirms three Manchester United players could miss FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester on Sunday

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Manchester United could be without three key players when we face Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.

According to Solskjaer, Marcus Rashford, Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial are all doubts for the game against Leicester City.

Cavani has missed eight of United’s last nine games due to a muscular injury while Rashford was substituted at half-time against AC Milan with a ‘twinge’.

Martial sustained a hip injury in the first leg draw with Milan last week.

“With Marcus, I don’t really know, I can’t say,” Solskjaer admitted.

“I hope, but most unlikely that he’ll be fit, but I hope so. As you said, it’s just an hour or so since the end of the game so we haven’t really got to the bottom of it.

“With Edinson, he has worked really hard, he’s joined in training sessions and towards the end he needs to top it up to feel 100 per cent ready for the game and hasn’t really got there yet.

“It’s down to him, he wants to be 100 per cent when he joins in, he doesn’t want to come in and look off the pace. Hopefully he can be ready for Sunday but I’m not sure, either, because after training yesterday he felt something and couldn’t train with us.

“Not concerned at all [about Martial’s France squad inclusion]. I just want Anthony fit and the same with Paul [Pogba], we just want them to go and play. They’ve missed too many games.

“This was a hip injury he got against AC Milan a week ago. We hoped he would be ready for West Ham then he couldn’t make that one. He was close to being fit for this one but couldn’t make it. Hopefully he’ll make Sunday. I’m not sure because it’s not reacted how we hoped.

“But he’s working really hard to get the treatment in the pool and the bike work and everything to get ready and that’s the pleasing thing, that he’s desperate to come back. I think it will benefit him if he’s fit enough to go with France and play.”
