Compared to last season, Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood hasn’t been banging in the goals this season. He has just one Premier League goal this term, and only four in all competitions.
However, former Tottenham star Jermaine Jenas has hailed the quality of the young striker following his display against West Ham, even though he didn’t get on the scoresheet.
Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, former Tottenham man Jermaine Jenas said: “Everything Mason Greenwood does as a centre-forward is the right way to play the role.
“I love the way he just drops deep and he’s never fighting defenders; he’s never having to fight people to hold up the ball. He’s smart enough to drop off, take it in, keep the ball going, spread it wide.
“Lukasz Fabianski made a great save off Greenwood on Sunday, he whipped in a great ball for Marcus Rashford that he should have done better with.
“The goals are not there yet, but they’re going to come, and Sunday’s display at the top end of the pitch I just thought was a real solid centre-forward’s display.”
