West Ham have been a tough side to face this season, and Manchester United had to overcome a difficult Hammers team to seal a 1-0 victory over West Ham at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The win was a massive one for the club as United maintained their place on second position, with Leicester City having beaten Sheffield United 5-1.
With West Ham also in the race for top four, the victory ensured a 9-point gap ahead of the top four hopeful.
Meanwhile, Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay admitted after the game that he wasn’t pleased that the team is looking at the top four part of the table when they should rather be chasing Manchester City at the top.
McTominay said: “It’s difficult to look at top four, because we had a time when we were looking at the league … but Manchester City have had a terrific run of games, and we’re just doing our best to try and keep on them.”
