According to The Sun, Manchester United legend Roy Keane is keen on becoming Celtic’s new boss.
Keane spent the final six months of his career at Celtic following his controversial exit from Manchester United in 2005 and helped the Parkhead club to the league title in 2006.
Keane has not held a manager or head coach role in nearly a decade but has been in assistant manager roles at Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa and the Republic of Ireland national teams recently.
The 49 year old was offered the job before and declined, but he has told his pals he would say yes this time.
The Sun also claim senior Celtic chiefs want to keep the existing coaching staff and put a ‘figurehead’ in charge. Keane does not have a backroom team that he uses, so that would be ideal.
