Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has urged the club to consider a summer move for Leicester City defender Wesley Fofana.

Fofana has excelled for the Foxes since arriving from Saint-Etienne at the beginning of the campaign and Hargreaves believes he’s the perfect player for Manchester United.

“I’d love to see Manchester United get Fofana,” Hargreaves told Premier League Productions.

“He’s a Ferrari, honestly. I’d throw whatever they’ve got left in the bank to get him. He’s a fabulous player.”

Hargreaves is not the only former United player to urge the club to sign Fofana.

Back in January, United legend Paul Scholes urged the club to sign the Leicester City defender.

“If I was Ole and could sign a defender this month, I’d go for Wesley Fofana at Leicester,” Scholes told ESPN. “He’s only 20, but he has been outstanding and he has the potential to be anything he wants to be.

“United have done okay at the back this season, but they have been exposed when playing against the big teams and that’s another problem they need to solve.”
