Manchester United were close to sealing a 1-0 victory over AC Milan in the Europa League round of 16 first leg clash, but United conceded a late goal that gives AC Milan the advantage heading into the second leg.
Amad Diallo had given United the lead five minutes after the restart, but Simon Kjaer broke the hearts of Manchester United fans with a stoppage time equaliser.
Speaking after the game, Manchester United boss Olé Gunnar Solskjaer revealed his displeasure with the team’s defending, and also that of the goalkeeper Dean Henderson, but he admitted that Manchester United were poor almost all through the game.
On United’s performance against Milan, Solskjaer said: “That late goal makes it harder but it was always going to be down to the second game.
“Dean Henderson can save it of course, but we should have attacked the ball. We were a long way off it today.
“We were too slow with the possession, it is sometimes hard off the back of a game like Manchester City.”
