‘He can do better’ – Manchester United player slammed for role in AC Milan’s goal

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson has been slammed for his role in AC Milan’s late equalizer at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Amad Diallo gave Manchester United the lead early in the second half but it was cancelled out at the death by Simon Kjaer as his header evaded the dive of Henderson.

Paul Scholes, Owen Hargreaves and Robbie Savage unanimously agreed that Henderson should have saved Kjaer’s last minute equaliser.

Scholes told BT Sport: “He should save it. I think he’s trying to make it a little bit more difficult than it should be. First and foremost, keep the ball out of the net, he’ll know that.

“For goalkeepers especially. concentration is a big thing and in the 93rd minute, it’s a mistake.”

Hargreaves told BT Sport: “He’s a confident young man and he’ll realise that that’s one he should have saved. Maybe someone was in front of him or he couldn’t see or something. Dean made a mistake there.”

“I think the goalkeeper can do better, the header is straight at him,” said Savage. “Got to save that, it’s a mistake from the goalkeeper, maybe I’m being a bit harsh, but he has to save it.”
