According to Spanish media outlet AS via Metro, Spanish giants Real Madrid are ready to sell Raphael Varane to Manchester United this summer but on one condition.
The report claims Varane must inform the Real Madrid board of his decision before the transfer window opens so that they club can prepare for negotiations with United.
The France international has less than 18 months to run on his contract with Real Madrid and though Real Madrid are keen to keep Varane, he is reportedly not keen on extending his contract.
Manchester United missed out on signing Varane in 2012 when Real Madrid used Zinedine Zidane’s influence to sign the Frenchman and it is believed Manchester United can finally sign the defender this summer.
Varane is believed to be keen to experience life away from the Bernabeu and is reportedly open to playing in the Premier League next season.
Manchester United were interested in signing RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano but the Frenchman chose Bayern Munich and Varane would represent a more experienced arrival.
Would Varane be an upgrade on Victor Lindelof at Manchester United?
