Manchester United told to pay £63million for Sporting Lisbon wonderkid

Despite only signing Alex Telles last summer from FC Porto, Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Sporting Lisbon left-back Nuno Mendes.

According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola, the Red Devils have been told they must pay Mendes’ whopping £63million buyout clause.

The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the best up and coming left-backs in Europe and is also attracting interest from Liverpool, Real Madrid, Manchester City, AC Milan and Juventus.

Liverpool reportedly made an offer of £19million for the 18-year-old left-back in January but it was rejected by the Portuguese club.

Mendes has played 24 times for Sporting since making his first-team debut back in June, scoring once and getting two assists, while he has become their first-choice left-back this season.
