Manchester United and AC Milan will face each other in the Europa League on Thursday night, and this game promises to be one of the most anticipated in the Europa League this season, as it’s between two European giants who have won multiple Champions League trophies.

Meanwhile, Milan will be a bit weakened for this fixture, as they are already without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who suffered an injury a fortnight ago, days after the draw was made.

Zlatan could return for the second leg, but he has been ruled out of Thursday’s game.

Italian media outlet Calciomercato has also confirmed that attackers Ante Rebic and Hakan Calhanoglu will miss the trip to Old Trafford.

Former Bayern Munich star Mario Mandzukic has also been ruled out of the tie, along with midfielder Ismael Bennacer. The two players were absent from Milan’s win over Verona at the weekend.

For Manchester United, Marcus Rashford remain the only major doubt for this game after sustaining an ankle injury against Manchester City on Sunday, and of course David De Gea who has since been granted permission to be with his wife and newly born child.
