Manchester United are reportedly planning for life after David de Gea, with various reports claiming the Spanish international will leave the club at the end of the season.
De Gea is currently in Spain after his partner gave birth and in his absence, Dean Henderson has impressed, keeping clean sheets against Crystal Palace and Manchester City.
While Henderson is keen on becoming the club’s number one goalkeeper, Manchester United are reportedly making moves to replace De Gea with a world-class goalkeeper.
According to Sky Sports via Metro, Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak is one of the goalkeepers in Manchester United’s shortlist.
Oblak, 28, has long been linked with a move to Old Trafford and the Slovenian is a boyhood fan of the Red Devils but it is unlikely Atletico Madrid will allow the Slovenian goalkeeper leave.
The other potential replacements for De Gea according to the report are AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and Lille’s Mike Maignan.
Donnarumma is out of contract at AC Milan at the end of the season while Maignan, 25, made his debut for France last year following an impressive season in Ligue 1.
